Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits. It is an important part of life and a necessity in today’s world to survive. Globally, countries signed a pact of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in which Quality Education is the number four goal. Which points to guarantee comprehensive and impartial quality instruction and advance deep-rooted learning openings for all citizens; through unmistakable enhancements in country’s education policies. Pakistan, beside other nations of world has signed the Sustainable Development Goals Agenda 2030. The Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973 also ensure education for all and stated that “State shall be responsible for eradication of illiteracy and provision of free and compulsory education up to secondary level, within minimum possible time” (Article 37-B, 1973 Constitution of Pakistan)

The Article 25A – Right to Education – of the Constitution states that “The State shall provide free and compulsory education to all children of the age of five to sixteen years in such manner as may be determined by law.”

A National Education Policy System has been defined to combat the numerous challenges confronting the education sector. The System has set up four priority zones:

Priority 1: Decrease Out of School Children (OOSC) and Increase School Completion

Priority 2: Achieve Uniformity in Education Standards

Priority 3: Improve the Quality of Education

Priority 4: Enhance Access to and Relevance of Skills Training

According to Economic Survey 2018-19, literacy rate trends shows 62.3 percent in 2017-18 (as compared to 60.7 percent in 2014-15), males (from 71.6% to 72.5%) and females (from 49.6% to 51.8%). Area wise analysis suggests that literacy rate increased in both rural (51.9% to 53.3%) and urban (76.0% to 76.6%). It is also observed that male-female disparity narrowing down with time span. Literacy rate increases in all provinces, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (54.1% to 55.3%), Punjab (61.9% to 64.7%) and Baluchistan (54.3% to 55.5%) except in Sindh (63.0% to 62.2%) where marginal decrease has been observed. Even though such policies are implemented in the country, its education condition is still critical. According to UNDP’s Human Development Report 2018, Pakistan is positioned 150th out of 189 countries with the HDI value of 0.562 (with 1 being the most extreme value). Overall education condition is based

on key performance indicators such as enrolment rates, number of institutes and teachers which experienced marginal improvement. The total enrolment in all educational institution in the country was 50.6 million compared to 48.0 million during 2016 17 an increase of 5.3 percent. The number of institutions is projected to increase by 1.6 percent in 2018-19, leading to an increase of 4.8 percent in aggregate enrolment. The total number of teachers during 2017-18 was 1.8 million compared to 1.7 million during last year showing an increase of 1.6 percent. This number of teachers is estimated to increase by 2.9 percent to 1.8 million during the year 2018-19.

Noor-e-Kainat Welfare Trust main objective is to provide Quality Education to all the citizens of Pakistan, with out the biasness of sex, gender, race, culture or color. The trust has opened a school which provide free education to poor.
